You begin by always expecting good things to happen.

- Tom Hopkins

"I don’t think I deserve this."

"This is too good to be true."

"I’m just waiting for something to mess things up."

"It cannot be this good for that long."

"I know nothing this good happens to me."

"I know somewhere, somehow this is going to mess up."

"It’s surreal." "I’m worried."

"I don’t know what’s going to happen but I can just feel like its too good to be true."

Has this ever been you? We’re often surrounded by so much negativity. We have had so many negative experiences that didn’t turn out the way we wanted them to that we’re almost expecting failure and defeat.

But check it out.

I want you – no, I need you – to expect greatness every single day.

Yes, you will face challenges.

Yes, things won't always go the way you want them to.

But you are exactly where God wants you to be right here and right now. Your troubles may be just one decision away from becoming triumphs. And who knows? Those same triumphs might one day become stories that will propel someone else into greatness.

I’ve been doing a lot of listening to the late motivational speaker, Zig Ziglar. He is quoted to have said that we should make friends with our past. That means that disappointment, failure, or that thing that didn’t go as planned is something we need to reconcile with. We've got to shake its hand and give it a hug. We've got to let it go. There is so much in store for us up ahead that if we just shifted our focus we would see the greatness in and around us.

See, greatness is in you. It’s around you. And it’s for you. I know things happen. I know things don’t always go the way you’d prefer them to go. I know that you’ve been disappointed by others time and time again. It's hard to reprogram your mind after multiple rejections, disappointments and letdowns.

But after awhile, expecting greatness will come as naturally as expecting to get in your car and reach your destination. You may get cut off on the way. You may even get into an unexpected accident on the way, but that expectancy to get to your destination is still there.

And when you expect great things, you will eventually get there. Why? Because the greatness never leaves you. It’s inside of you. And if you unleash it, it will pour out of you. If you understand the law of attraction, it will come back to you. So expect greatness. Demonstrate greatness. Live in greatness.
