"Efforts and courage are not enough without purpose and direction."

- John F. Kennedy

I always encourage people to be the light they want to see.

Some people enter a room and they light it up. They raise the temperature. They stir something up inside of everyone in the area. Some people dim it down, bringing a bit of darkness. It makes the place a little colder and things a little uncomfortable. The excitement is lower. The energy is lower. You’re not vibrating as much.

It's imperative to know what kind of energy you bring, and that can only be determined by one thing - purpose. So what is your purpose for the day? Set the intention for the day as positive – something that can only happen if you make it so. I’ve said before that “as a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. So imagine that you repeated how great it is to have a great day, daily. Imagine saying it in every conversation, as you walk to your car, or as you hopped on the subway; what would be the effect? Would you be that one who was upping the temperature of the room? Who was bringing more energy and fire? Or do you think it would cool you off and chill you out?

See here’s how purpose really works: if you set your intention for the day and give it (and yourself) purpose, things change. Your perspective for the day. Your outlook on what you’re doing. Your attitude towards everybody you see - everything.

If you spend the next 24 hours doing your best to have a great day, the way you look at things will change. And because the way you look at things change, the way you do things will change.

So put on that purpose and #GetAfterIt.
